Mamas who are having trouble finding cute clothes for your littles for spring and summer, I’ve got you covered! I’m sharing my best tips for finding the cutest clothes for any occasion that are durable enough to last, and the best part, are affordable! I’m sharing a mix of large chain stores that we’re all familiar with, as well as smaller boutiques, so scroll through the whole post to make sure you don’t miss any of them!
This post is all about where to find the best toddler and kids clothes for spring and summer.

All of the product I am able to link will be on my LikeToKnowIt. I will also save them in my “kids clothes” collection at the top of my LTK page for easy viewing!
WHERE TO START
I always start by looking to see what clothes my kids already have, and what we can rest this season. Decluttering and donating or selling things that no longer fit will help make it easier to see what you already have.
After getting an idea of the types of items you need to buy, pick a color palette. I like to start with neutrals as staples, then pick a few accent colors to add in. That way everything is cohesive. You can mix and match almost every piece in order to make more outfits and get the most use out of every piece. And let’s face it, sometimes you don’t feel like planning out outfits and just want to grab the first set of clean clothes you see. You’ll have an easier time doing this if the majority of the items go together.
Having this type of capsule wardrobe also allows you to have less pieces. I like to have more than what we typically use in a week so there are backups and extra outfits for the diaper bag, but beyond that I don’t feel the need to buy 50 tops and 50 bottoms for each kid. I can mix and match what I have to make multiple outfits with every piece. This will also save you money by buying less, or allow you to invest a little more in each piece you buy.
I’ve found that I’m way more intentional with the clothing I buy now by shopping this way.
LET’S JUMP IN TO MY FAVORITE PLACES TO SHOP
OLD NAVY
I love shopping Old Navy when they’re having a sale and stacking that with my Super Cash! Most of the time I earn some sort of points or discounts, and I always try to save up what I can to get the biggest discount in the spring/summer. My favorite pieces to get here are shoes for my little boy, who has chubby feet, and “nicer, dressy” clothes (nothing too fancy, just something that I can save back for pictures or events like a birthday or wedding.)

JCPENNEY
I am newly obsessed with the Okie Dokie brand at JCPenney! They have the cutest clothes for both boys and girls, and a great range of sizes. I try to stick to a color palette when buying a new round of clothes so they can all mix and match, and Okie Dokie had the perfect colors to mix in with the other pieces I had already bought from other retailers. They also had many pieces to mix and match within the brand. I’ll definitely be going back for more soon! My favorite items from this little haul are the matching button up tee and dress! I plan on using these for family pictures or Easter outfits.

H&M
H&M has to be one of my all-time favorite places for toddler and kids clothes. I love the unique pieces and colors they came out with this season. I love graphic tees, and I can usually find a ton here that don’t look like every other graphic tee you find at big chain stores. The boy’s section was not disappointing this season either! It featured many pastel and neon pieces, which is an exciting surprise. I wanted to stray away from the usual navy blue, orange, and army green that every store thinks boys need to wear all the time. Mixing it p with brighter tones for the warmer weather makes me so happy, even if it is still 30 degrees here. The pieces I found were so affordable too, which is the best part!

WALMART
Walmart has shocked me lately with the amount of cute clothes they’ve come out with! I’m always happy to find play clothes here for the kids, because if their $5 shorts get ruined outside I won’t be as upset about it. I also found a new brand Walmart carries called Modern Moments. My Walmart had the matching pajama sets (like the green/black/white one below) in so many cute patterns and solids. I hope they start carrying more of this brand soon! The rest of the pieces are a mix between the toddler and big kid section

TARGET
Before 2022, most of my kids’ clothes came from target. I still buy Cat & Jack jeans because they seems to fit the best, but other than that I feel like I was pushed to stray to other stores. The styles haven’t been the best, and my Target doesn’t carry the Art Class brand in toddler size in stores (HUGE bummer because that’s the cutest brand!) so I haven’t shopped there much this year. However, it’s still my go-to for staples, play clothes/jeans, and I also love to check the sale section and graphic tees/sweatshirts. My favorite piece I’ve bought recently is this toddler graphic sweatshirt, which was on sale!

LITTLE ONE SHOP CO
My first small shop I’m excited to share with you is Little One Shop Co. It’s perfect for newborns all the way up to 5T. My favorite items from them are their matching ribbed sets and graphic sweatsuits. I also used their swaddles and loved them! I’m sharing my favorite photo of one of Lacoa’s coming home outfit options because it’s the cutest. I can’t wait to pt him in these ribbed sets again as a toddler! My favorite think about their website is that you can shop by size, which makes it so easy to find exactly what you’re looking for!

BAILEY’S BLOSSOMS
This is my all-time favorite boutique for little girl’s clothes! They have toddler and big girls sizes, as well as some adult sizes so you can match your littles. These styles are unbeatable for their price, and there are always sales and specials going on. I love getting statement pieces for family photos or holidays.
This romper is an older style that isn’t available anymore. I got it on sale for an amazing price a couple years ago and held it back for when we could use it. I’ve linked some other similar ones I love.

SALTY LITTLE BUMS
I just recently found this shop and I’m in love with their style! I am about to place an order with them so I don’t have my own photos to share yet, but I was eager to share them with you. Go visit their instagram and see for yourself! Their graphic tees are perfect spring spring and summer. I also feel like their color palette is more unique and less baby-ish than some of the other stores. I love that this is a family owned business, and I hope you love it just as much as I do!
I hope this post has helped you get to a good starting point for your spring and summer shopping! I love shopping for kids clothes but sometimes it can be overwhelming. Starting with a color palette and a few brands you love takes the stress to of figuring out where to start. As always, if you buy any of my recommendation tag me on social media and let me see! I love seeing all of the cute outfits other moms put together for their littles.
